Holiday Cards!

Happy Holidays everyone!! 

Best part about the Christmas season: The FeSTiVe! feeling in the air; why can't it be this way all year? All around there just seems to be this general feeling of happy anticipation and givingness (not a word but def a feeling) that when mixed with twinkly colorful lights everywhere gives me a warm, airy sort of feeling :) My favorite holiday is still New Years though.....

So I have made my first batch of obligatory Christmas cards. I'm kidding, I actually really like making cards. 

I found this old stamp from a set my mother bought years ago when for 2 seconds she was into the whole crafty stamping thing (if I recall she made me this really cute heart sweater during that time). The stamp simply states "Wise men seek Him still" and I love it. I think it's so appropriate/compelling. Here are the cards! I got the ideas for the first two cards from curbly.com which is a great site.

It (was) My Birthday!...

I woke the day of my birthday feeling happy, and the feeling lasted all day. It was one of the best birthdays I've had, not because I had a killer party or received a super flashy gift, but because the people in my life made me feel loved and special, which is the best part about birthdays. Not to mention I ate dinner at one of my favorite expensive restaurants and was given beautiful flowers, and money$$... so i guess it's a little about the gifts too. lol. But MOSTLY not. So here's a big THANK YOU! to all the wonderful people in my life that love and care for me.

My Thanksgiving....

 My Thanksgiving day was very nice and quite. Just my three ladies and my lil runt :) I cooked most of the food and it all came out really good if I say so myself hehe :) 

We had a turkey that we put in a brine over night, green bean casserol, buttery chestnut and apple stuffing,and glazed sweet potatoes.

The turkey may have been a lil on the salty side though. Oh well! Better luck next year.

Go USA!

The bid for who gets the 2022 FIFA World Cup is going to be decided very soon. According to the website its only 7 days 19 hrs 19 mins until FIFA announces who the host nation will be. I hope it's us! I will be in my mid-thirties and more than likely all my favorite players (Fernando Torres, Gerard Pique, Steven Gerrard, Xabi Alonso) will no longer be playing, but i think it would be so amazing to be able to take my son to watch a World Cup game. So I def signed the petition, everyone should! Do it here !

Thanksgiving Cards!

So I made a batch of Give Thanks! cards to send my family for Thanksgiving. It was so much fun! Therapeutic almost. But I get kinda depressed when I think about how most of them will probably be throw away shortly after they are taken out of their precious sealed envelopes of safety. *sigh* Ah well, so it is in the world of card making. It's worth the effort though :)

I so love my family! I wish I could be with all of them celebrating this holiday. Right now the plan is just to be with my immediate family, which means that it will be a quiet Thanksgiving. Haven't had one of those in a while. But I am looking forward to cooking some good food. I think my sisters are looking forward to cooking too which is nice, and strange. I will make sure to post some pics of la comida!...
